Labour government grants put more sport in Limeside Park and help to break down barriers
30 January 2010
Phil Woolas is delighted with the announcement of a £40,000 grant to the Friends of Limeside Park.
The money will be used in Limeside Park to install new basketball and football equipment.
The improvements will provide a safe area for young people to play and encourage increased usage of these outdoor resources.
Phil was also pleased to see Oldham Youth Foundation get £10,000 grant.
This is for a project involving those from local minority groups in intervention activities, one-to-one mentoring schemes and debate workshops.
The plan is to help break down cultural barriers in the community.
